Woodbox ® Outstanding Features Video Ceramic Burner ® Outstanding Features
The entire range of Nestor Martin stoves is designed to offer you a choice of fuels – wood, lignite briquettes or even coal. The Nestor Martin units can optimize the combustion of any of these fuels, bringing the greatest warmth and comfort to the home.
Nestor Martin’s airtight firebox and accurate air controls allow the stove to burn on low setting for up to ten hours without reloading. The stove can safely be kept burning all night and without dirtying the glass.
The core of the Nestor Martin stove is a robust steel firebox lined with cast-iron, for durability and efficient combustion. Every aspect of the firebox has been designed for the perfect dosage of preheated air and its slow, steady delivery onto the fire, giving optimal combustion at all settings. Each of the cast-iron components can be easily removed for maintenance.
The doubled-glazed window offers increased security and greater resistance to tar deposits. By keeping the combustion chamber hotter, double glazing helps to ensure more thorough combustion. With seals on both sides and in between the two panes of glass, the risk of air leaks is also greatly reduced.
To avoid ash build-up in the combustion chamber, the Nestor Martin stoves are equipped with a grate shaker which can be operated even while the appliance is in use. When the fuel grate is shaken, the ashes fall directly into the stove’s ashpan, which can be easily removed and emptied.
Despite the advanced technology of the Woodbox combustion system, the Nestor Martin stoves are simple to operate. A single knob allows you to control with precision the volume of air entering the stove, and thus the tempo of the fire. A second allows you to select the air flow direction appropriate for the type of fuel you’re burning.
A rear air inlet allows for easy hook-up to an external air duct to bring the air necessary for combustion from outside, instead of from the room. This allows the stove to function independently of room atmospheric conditions, and is appropriate for airtight homes, as it eliminates the need for an air brick in the home.
Nestor Martin’s Woodbox stoves have been approved to the strictest of international combustion standards: CE, DIN, DIN Plus, NS (Norway), EPA (United States), NZS (New Zealand), Flamme Verte (France).
Conventional airwash systems reduce tar staining on the window by creating a curtain of air to push the staining particles towards the back of the stove.
Conversely, the Woodbox stoves simply use thorough combustion to keep the glass clean. With the Woodbox’s high-tech burning process, the particles in the smoke which would otherwise stain the glass are simply burned off instead of being pushed away. The glass will therefore remain clean, even when the stove is operating on low setting.
